No Power

“No Power”  Dan 3:25

He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

Dan 3:26

Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire.

Dan 3:27

And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.

Here we have the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace.  We all are familiar with this story and know that in verse 27 no harm befell them.  We also see that as these three young men chose to obey God instead of man.

We see in these verses that the King had no power over the three young men as they chose to serve and obey God.  I also think it is pretty amazing how they knew what Jesus looked like.  I don’t think they lived to see Jesus walking the earth, yet they could recognize Him when He showed up.

When we as christians are asked to do something that is contrary to what God wants, God will protect us.  Isn’t it amazing that the world knows what Jesus should look like and what He does(or atleast they think they do)?  Yet they themselves reject what He would do and should do.  When we feel the pressure to cave-in to the world’s influence we can be assured that when they throw us to the fire, Jesus will be with us!  And not only that, but we will get restored to where we should have been before the “furnace experience”.  Today, know that Jesus loves you and when you feel the heat of following God or the world, Jesus will be with you to help you through the trial.

– I appreciate you and remember to be a conduit of God’s love to someone today!
