Let Go… and Let God
Psa 5:8 Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.
Psa 5:9 For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.
The feeling of revenge is a destructive and seductive feeling. When a person allows those thoughts into their thinking and allows the vengeful thoughts to dominate their thinking, they buy in to a very destructive pattern of thoughts that leads to destructive behavior. And before they know it, they start doing the same actions that the wicked one that hurt him did.
We are reminded in verse 10 that revenge belongs to God.
God, being perfect and without sin, can rightfully give the necessary acts of destruction to those who need it. Look at the statements in verse 10:
1. Destroy thou them
2. Let them fall by their own counsels
3. Cast them out into the multitude of their transgressions.
The Psalmist is admitting to God the realization of the end result of the wicked. He also realizes whom vengeance belongs to. Can you imagine the emotion he was feeling? He must have had some strong feelings for him to make those 3 statements in verse 10. When in Doubt…Don’t. We need to get to the place that our faith lets go of the circumstances and lets God do what needs to be done. We have to trust Him enough to do what is right in the situation.
Let God handle it; He will do better than you, and you won’t get punished for it either.
