Two Are Better Than One

Ecc 4:9  Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.

Ecc 4:10  For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

Two are better than one.  Sounds like a statement of the times.  It is a pretty sad thing if someone were to be alone in this world.  I do not think that this verse only means that if you have someone with you, you are better off than being all alone.  This verse actually means when you have two people together “in the same yoke” working toward the same goal, that you will see how much better it is to have two.  These two verses apply to many areas:

1. Marriage-to be fully committed to the same goal in marriage is to be in happiness and harmony.  Have you ever been around a couple who compliment each other very well?  Maybe you and your spouse are like this.   I think this verse applies very well in this case.

2. Employment-When the owners, bosses, co-workers are getting along; production becomes efficient and more gets done.  The opposite is true also; when there is discord, production takes a back seat to drama.

3. Family-while some may think that this should be included in marriage, I don’t.  This is why, my family is made up of adults and children.  When children are on the same page with the parents, a happy home becomes a by product.  Our children know us better than anyone else does.  They may not realize that fact, but subconsciously they know us the best.  If we can all get on the same page, then life is a lot better!

4. Church-When the members are in accord with one another, great things can happen.  The Bible say that the “gates of hell will not prevail against the church”. So the devil cannot beat the church through the front door, so he will go through the back door and cause internal strife among those who are diligently laboring for Christ.

Act 9:31  Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied

Notice the words that are italicized:  the churches had rest, walked in the fear of the Lord and comfort of the Holy Ghost, and WERE MULTIPLIED!  When others see happiness and peace in your life, they will want it too!  People naturally gravitate to, and are curious of those who have peace, joy, comfort, and blessings!  They will want what you have so bad, that they will go where you got it!

Last question, are you joined up with someone? If not, join up with someone today…Remember, Two are better than One!
