The Best Friend You Will Ever Have

Php 3:10  That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

Pro 18:24  A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

Rom 2:4  Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

Have you ever been lied about?  If you have, was it a friend?  Has someone who does not know you try to say false things about you?  This is a common occurrence with Jesus, God the Father, and God the Holy Spirit.  I encounter those type of people regularly.  Can you imagine what God feels when others who claim to know Him try to say false things about Him?  He is a Big God and I know that He is not intimidated by anyone, but I still hate it when others lie about Him!

Will you give God a chance to show you what He truly is?  Will you give God a chance to show you how awesome He is?  Will you give God a chance to lead you through some hard times?  Will you allow God to show you how great a provider He is and can be and wants to be for you?  Sometimes I get fed up with those who are quick to leave God and bad-mouth Him to the point that I would like to show those people the “right hand of fellowship”…if you know what I mean!  Sometimes I do that too and have to remember that my sins sent Jesus to the cross!  Ouch,….I hate it when the Holy Spirit reminds me of that.  But keep in mind that if you were the only person on the earth, Jesus would love you enough to come and die on the cross!  Hallelujah for Jesus!!

Guess what? He wants to be your best friend-Proverbs 18:24.  He wants you to know Him!  He wants to know you!  He wants a relationship with you so bad that He gave His life to have a friendship with you!  You probably know your friend very well, don’t you?  You probably know what makes them mad and happy.  You probably know what makes them sad and joyful.  God wants that kind of relationship with you.  In order to build that kind of relationship with that person, you will have to give something that is very precious to you…time.  Without it, you can not build a friendship of any kind!  Will you be willing to spend that kind of time with Him to have a wonderful friendship?  The choice is up to you; He is waiting!
