Weekday devotionals for Christians

Can You See It?

2Ki 10:16  And he said, Come with me, and see my zeal for the LORD. So they made him ride in his chariot.

Wow, what a statement!  Come with me, and see my zeal for the Lord.  Have you ever been so zealous for the Lord that not only did you speak those words, but your life for the Lord also backed up those words ?  I have met some people who put my zeal to shame.  Although I like being around them, I feel convicted because their zeal for God makes me look like I am in depression.  There is a story in Luke 7 where Jesus heals a woman and she can not contain her love and appreciation for the Lord.  The next two verses describe Jesus’ conversation with some pharisees about that woman.

Luk 7:42  And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?

Luk 7:43  Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.

What about you?  How is your zeal for the Lord?  This is a convicting thought for me!  Will you have so much zeal for the Lord that you can’t wait to tell others about Him?  We all should be around those who challenge us.  Even though it is uncomfortable, we should still choose to be with them, why?  They will motivate you to do more for Christ.  I was told once, “If you are the best one in the group you fellowship with, then you should change groups.”  What will you do for the Lord?  Your zeal for God should cause you to do something for Him, what will you do?  The choice is yours.
