Adding or Multiplying

Pro 1:23  Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
Pro 1:24  Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
Pro 1:25  But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
Pro 1:26  I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;

Have you ever been in a situation where a bad decision is made and you try to correct and fix it only to make matters worse?  Maybe you have done what seems to happen to me more than I care to admit to:  you are running late and start hurrying around and because you are hurrying, you knock over somethings and make a mess.  Then it puts you even further behind schedule because you are cleaning up the mess that you made because you were hurrying.  This happens to me and is very frustrating!  I was reminded of a statement this morning, “When you find yourself making several bad decisions or mistakes and you can’t correct them…stop!”

Sometimes we compound one bad decision with many bad decisions.  If you find yourself trying to fix those bad decisions and are only making matters worse, stop.  Seems pretty simple,but very helpful.  I meet many people who compound their problems by doing this.  Better it is to count your losses by addition, then to count them by multiplication.  How will you count them?
