What Are You Doing?

1Thessalonians 1:8 For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.
1Thessalonians 1:9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;
1Thessalonians 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

I like to ask questions!  Questions can be very thought provoking; especially in a culture that lives for entertainment.  We need questions in our life.  Questions cause us to think, often times they should provoke us to think “out of the box”.  When we get entertainment or amusement, we most likely “mentally” step away from reality to enjoy a diversion from everyday life.

 While I can and do enjoy a hobby or two, I realize that life is not for entertainment and amusement.  Amusement has its place in our life, but it should be a secondary part of our life.  When we allow amusement to run our lives, we then start to live in a false state of living.  I like a little distraction every now and again, but even I feel the flesh wanting more of fun.  When I feel this way I need to take a sobering look at where I am heading.  I am starting to get off the subject a little so I will get to the point.

What are you living for?  How are you living for it?  Are you really living to the best of your ability or are you living to the best of your comfort zone?  Most people fool themselves into thinking that their life is as good as it gets (as long as they stay in their comfort zone).  God, who loves us, sees what we really need.  He sees if we are really living for amusement or if we are really “Living for Him”.  The real test in our lives is “Are we really living for Jesus?”  Are we?  Ask yourself this question, “what have I done in the last week to further God’s kingdom.”  What have you done that betters God’s work?  Are you living for Jesus?  If so, what are you doing?
