Weekday devotionals for Christians

Don’t Blame Me for That!

Psalms 43:2-5
(2) For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
(3) O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.
(4) Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.
(5) Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

2 Timothy 1:7
(7) For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Satan is a master at hurting us and making it look like it is someone else’s fault. He works his best to blame God for the bad in our world. If for some reason a Christian gets blamed instead of God, then that is OK too.

I have found through out my life that I have harbored fear inside me as well. Doing this will cause us to get our focus off of God, which will cause us not to live by faith; but rather fear. Living by fear is what will cause you to react in the wrong way and often will cause you to do the wrong thing.

I have also realized from the above verses, that when fears are in my life, it is not God’s fault. His intention is for us to have Victory through His power, His love , and His sound mind. The reason that we do not get the victory is when we live by fear instead of allowing God’s power, love, and sound mind direct us.

It is not God’s fault if you are fearful….IT IS YOUR FAULT!!! I am sorry if that seems harsh, but it is reality. No one will make you fear…only you can do that. God wants to help you overcome fear and He will help you overcome it if you allow Him.

What will you do the next time you catch yourself fearing? Will you give it over to God and allow Him to direct you through to victory or will you fear? God wants you to have Victory, but He will not force it on you. You must take His “tools” found in His Word and use them to help you overcome fear and live by faith into victory.

Remember, it is easy to blame someone else, it is hard to swallow the hard truth. The choice is yours to make.
