He Is Not The Great I Was

Exodus 3:12-14

12.  And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.
13.  And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?                                                                                                               14.  And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

One of the most important things that God does for us is to assure us that He won’t ever leave us or let us down.  Whether or not realize it, we need His assurances.  Here in Exodus, God is instructing Moses to give this command to the children of Israel as they are in bondage to the Egyptians.  God is about to drastically change their life forever!  God (in this passage) is starting the process by which they will be no longer enslaved and live not just as free men and women, but rather live victoriously!   Did you know that God wants you to live victoriously?  He wants you to be conquerors through Him!  But don’t forget, in order for you to have victory:

1. You must have an enemy.  Yes, that’s right; you must have someone to defeat if you are going to be Victorious!  Without an enemy, you cannot have Victory!

2. You must be on the winning side.  What ?!  How can you be on the winning side before you start the battle?  That answer is easy!  Jesus is the answer!  If you are on His side, you WILL have victory!  WAY TOO MANY christians have it the wrong way.  They are trying to coerce Jesus to give them the victory.  They are trying to bribe God to bless them.  They want God to move to them rather than them move to where God is.  This is why so many people never see victory.  God will not be “strong-armed” over to anyone’s side!  If we want victory, we must move to Him rather than Him move to where we are!

So let me ask you one more question, Do you have Victory?  Remember, He is not the I was, He IS the I AM.  That means He is now.

to be continued…
